So over the rest of this month I am hoping to get to a bunch of books for the #12daysofdiversity readathon hosted by Julia Ember.

The idea is to read at least one book from each of the categories laid out for us as well as one wildcard read (if not more!).

The categories of retellings are:

  • Published in 2016
  • Protagonists of colour
  • LGBTQIA
  • Non-Western stories and myths
  • From a small publisher

She gives EXCELLENT recommendations in her original post so check it out to see some great ideas >>> Original Post

(it might be too late to sign up to win prizes but this is still a fantastic readathon to challenge yourself at the end of the year.)

MY CHOICES:

AS I DESCENDED by Robin Talleyasidescended-highres
(published in 2016) 25203675

THE STAR-TOUCHED QUEEN by Roshani Chokshi
(protagonist of colour)

LOST BOI by Sassafras Lowrey
(lgbtqia)

THE FORBIDDEN WISH by Jessica Khoury8297886_orig
(non-western stories and myths)51zuhso0ccl-_sx342_bo1204203200_

NORA & KETTLE by Lauren Nicolle Taylor
(from a small publisher)21396155

If I get to a wildcard option then I plan to choose between:
ASH by Malinda Lo
BEAST by Brie Spangler
AND I DARKEN by Kiersten White
