Top Ten Tuesday | #3

Hello reading fam!

ae977-toptentuesday

I’m back for another Top Ten Tuesday (originally created by The Broke and the Bookish) and this week the topic is Top Ten New To Me Authors of 2016.

  1. Nicola Yoon
This year I read both ‘Everything, Everything’ and ‘The Sun Is Also A Star’ and I loved both of them very much.
  2. Brandon Sanderson
I finally got to some Brandon Sanderson and I am sooo glad I was able to put away the daunting feeling of adult epic fantasy and jump into the world of the Mistborn.
  3. Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
    ‘ILLUMINAE’!!!!! that is all.
  4. Louise Gornall
I have gotten to know this lovely lady through my other website and she is just as wonderful as her book is!
  5. Tara Sim
Another wonder debut author I’ve had the honour of interviewing and reading, another gorgeous soul behind a marvellous book.
  6. Carlos Ruis Zafon
‘Shadow of the Wind’ has been my most exciting read of 2016.
  7. Noelle Stevenson
I discovered the Lumberjanes comics this year and fell in love with the art and characters.
  8. Jandy Nelson
‘I’ll Give You The Sun’ broke my heart in the most wonderful way.
  9. Adam Silvera
Adam’s voice is so unique and poignant, I can’t wait to read more of his books.
  10. Jennifer A. Nielsen
The Ascendance Trilogy was sooo good, they were quick enjoyable reads and I loved the characters.

  1. This is such an amazing list!! I would LOVE to finally read Nicola Yoon, especially TSIAAS. Not only is it getting great reviews, but I have an affinity for Nicola Yoon since I got to see her live and in person–as a fellow fan at a V.E. Schwab book signing. 😀 Hey, congrats on being able to get past daunting adult epic fantasy and reading Mistborn; so far, I have not been able to accomplish that feat, but I will persevere because everyone loves this series so much!

    1. I definitely urge you to read TSIAAS. It is so beautifully written, I couldn’t put it down. Ah yes! I was seriously cynical about my being able to read and enjoy such a long and meaty fantasy but I actually loved it and flew through it. Very much engaging throughout!!

      1. Oh, boy, I’m not sure what kind of mood I’ll need to be in to get past it, but the first time I approached Mistborn I just could not get into the dense writing style at all. I’m not usually one for high-high fantasy, but for Mistborn I’m willing to try. :-p
